South Tyrol should be perceived as a desirable destination both inside and outside of the province. Since 2000, South Tyrol Marketing (SMG) has taken responsibility for fulfilling this mandate. 

SMG plans and implements marketing campaigns in close collaboration with tourism organizations, product partners and business associations, taking strategic guidelines into account. Since 2005, its success has been even more striking through common use of the South Tyrol Umbrella Brand.
